What should I do if I smell propane?
Extinguish all smoking materials and open flames. Do NOT touch electrical switches, light matches or create any other source of ignition. Get everyone out of the building and away from gas equipment. Go to a nearby phone and call your gas supplier. Do NOT re-enter the area until it has been deemed safe. A trained service technician must repair the leak, turn on the propane, check all propane appliances and re-light pilots.
In an emergency can I shut off my propane supply?
Yes. Turn off the main gas supply valve on your propane tank if it is safe to do so. To close the valve, turn it to the right (clockwise) until tight.
Can I turn my gas supply back on again?
No. A qualified Phil's Propane service technician must perform a leak check of your propane system before gas service can be reinstated.
What is the fee for installing and setting up a new tank?
There is NO fee. We offer FREE safety checks, FREE pressure checks, and tank installation is FREE on company-owned tanks.
What are the monthly lease or rental fees, if you do not own your own tank?
Minimal use fee for generator tanks is $12/year.
Is there a minimum monthly purchase requirement?
There is no monthly minimum. The minimum we ask for service is a half tank.
Is there a fee for transportation of propane fuel?
There is no fee. Other companies do, but we do not charge delivery fees.
Are there fees for disconnecting and/or tank removal, if you change suppliers or fuel type?
We do not ask for any termination fee. You get credit for unused fuel.
Is there an early termination fee for fixed contracts?
We do have an Underground Tank Contract. Buy the equipment, once a year, and the fee is $185. There is no fee to come and pick it up. There is cost to evacuate it, but you get credit for the gas left over as well.
Will I reach a live customer service representative (CSR) when I call, regardless of the time (24-hour emergency service), and after I leave the message concerning a gas leak or no hot water?
Do you provide afterhours emergency services?
Our fees are as follows: special trip overnight charge is $150. There are no fees on automatic deliveries.
Some propane suppliers even offer free propane tanks, installation, and hookup for new customers—that’s a $1,000 cost savings. What incentive do you currently have?
Free installs are for tanks only. There is a fee for any installed lines. We do not do excavation or trenching.
What payment & budget plans do you offer?
Phil’s Propane offers budget plans, payment arrangements, automatic credit cards, eBill, and more.
Monthly payments? Pre-buy plans or automatic?
Our company offers fixed price agreements: Nov 1st through April 30th. Heating customers only.
Do you offer Gas line check? Appliance tune ups?
Our company provides pressure check at installation, and a follow up pressure test as well.
Will you help me monitor my usage?
We offer tank monitors. With many other companies, if you run out of gas, they are not responsible. Homeowners are responsible for their property. Phil’s Propane helps you avoid that situation, and can be there for you if you’re running low.
What are the terms if I decide to switch?
We provide service for heat assisting service clients.

All techs are certified for all jobs.
